The first 1/2 of the story was interesting. Reading about the authors upbringing and how she came to be involved in the industry.The second 1/2 was bogged down with email messages, sent back and forth, between herself and potential clients. I got some were necessary but when adding the to, from, date, time, subject to the header of each message some pages only had two lines of necessary information. ie, 'can you make it' reply 'yes'!
She certainly entertained some interesting clients, not without some interesting kinks, one that was knew to me and not for the faint hearted

Ever since EL James's book trilogy, `Fifty Shades of Grey' became a hit, there has been an increasing interest in BDSM. As you know, the acronym stands for "bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism", and it is a sexual fetish (some say a "lifestyle") that is not exactly mainstream. So for those whose interest is piqued, Mistress Marilyn's book, `Confessions of a Secret Dominatrix' should slake your thirst not only for information, but also a "real-life" sense of how the whole thing is "consumed."
The book is essentially autobiographical--Marilyn generously shares everything about her, from her childhood to adolescence, to that moment her sex life unravels when she "accidentally" becomes a "Madam", coordinating with female friends to "service" different men; when her lover John lured her into the soft swinging lifestyle, then on to discovering that she can "play" as Mistress Marilyn, further explore her sexuality, and deeply enjoy it.
Mistress Marilyn's writing has that rare literary grace about it that makes it a breeze to read, addictive even. I sat down merely to browse through, but ten pages into the book, I still couldn't put it down. Especially the exciting sex scenes--the author describes them as a seasoned writer who knows how to push the right buttons while staying classy.
But make no mistake about it--`Confessions of a Secret Dominatrix' is a real-life story--it is not fantasy, as Marilyn undergoes seemingly insurmountable problems and letting us readers learn from her mistakes. But ultimately, you'll learn a lot of lessons, especially about ensuring your personal safety even if you're pursuing uncommon pleasures.
Overall, this is a deliciously intriguing, deeply entertaining book--credit it to Mistress Marilyn's literary flair and her uncanny ability to make her own experience pulsate with vitality on the page. Its sexual connotations aside, `Confessions of a Secret Dominatrix' is an enlightening read, and one I would gladly recommend to friends who might need to have their misconceptions "corrected". And of course, fans of books like `Fifty Shades of Grey' must not miss this--Mistress Marilyn's book greatly complements the "experience" of Anastasia and Christian, and should be read either as a "side reference" or as an independent book that deserves to be enjoyed on its own. Great book! This book gives alot of insight into the beginnings of a lifestyle so many lead. A secret world of pleasure and pain. Very good read!
Quick easy read. Interesting story and good example that the girl-next-door isn't always as they seem. My husband and I both enjoyed the read.

Just downloaded on my iPad and I cannot put the book down! Readers will be spellbound until the last page is read! I also moved to Indiana and can relate to the story line as well. This is an excellent book that can easily be read in one sitting. Very well done! Enjoy and pass it around! I will!
The beginning of the book was good but then when you see the email and text exchanges it got difficult to read and to understand what was going on and how she operated as a Domme and the different things she did for these men or had the men do to her. It just seemed like page fillers or like the author lost interest in finishing what could have been a good story.
This is a very a honest book describing the path that led a woman to become a dominatrix. The tone is right and seems to be genuine. However, the reproduction of the exchange of emails between the dominatrix and her submissive subjects is very boring and pointless as it includes a lot of irrelevant stuff and takes a good chunk of the book.
